Communities in Bloom
2007 was Teulon's introductory year in the Communities in Bloom Program. We are very proud to announce that after a very busy summer working on projects to beautify our community, Teulon was awarded 4 Blooms with Special Mention for its Tidiness Effort in the Provincial Competition.
Communities in Bloom is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental awareness and municipal beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a provincial and national evaluation. The program promotes involvement and action by citizens of all ages, the municipal government, local organizations and businesses. The program strives to improve the tidiness, appearance and visual appeal of Canada's neighborhoods, parks, open spaces and streets through the imaginative use of flowers, plants and trees. Focus on environmental awareness and preservation of heritage and culture is also an integral part of its success resulting in an improved quality of life.
The Teulon in Bloom Committee is very active within the community and focus's on projects that improve our already beautiful town. We have many great ideas for the year's to come and look forward to implementing them to make Teulon one of the most beautiful small towns in Manitoba!
